Anti-War protest san francisco

March 20th 2003

Anti-war protesters took to the streets of San Francisco as the U.S. began its invasion of Iraq. Knowing that it would happen, I took my camera to work that day to record some of the days events. Definitely was a different day....my account of the day and some photos follow.

Rolling Hills Fire, dublin, CA

August 7th 2005

It was August 7th, 2005. A warm but not ridiculously hot day. In the late afternoon, I was outside and started hearing sirens. Soon a fire engine raced past the house and up the hill...I turned to see where it went, and immediately noticed a large cloud of smoke billowing up just over the hill. Some of the photo's follow, along with the story....

The mechanical toys

July 2007

So what are the mechanical toys? Well, see the photo taken in June 2007.... They are (left to right)

  • "Tiger" - Triumph Tiger. Great to ride, best for long distance riding (but see "Story of Tiger" below).
  • "Speedmaster" - Triumph Speedmaster. The lip curling cruiser. Too noisy says my wife.
  • "Bonnie" - Triumph Bonneville. My first motorbike (but in 2003!). Great fun to ride and attracts a lot of attention.
  • "Sprint" - Triumph Sprint RS. Fast, light, great fun. Probably the most fun to ride.

UPDATE: November 2007. Speedmaster has left the stable, and returned to her original owner! I bought her when he moved overseas, but now returning (either to England or the US) he has bought her back. I know she has returned to a loving home......

Thanksgiving 2006

THANKSGIVING 2006 (Page Updated in December 2006) Thanksgiving 2006 - took the opportunity to do a day trip up and over Ebbets Pass (Highway 4), through Markleeville, and then back over Highway 88. Early snow had closed Tioga Pass and Sonora Pass for the season, but Ebbets remained open. Having only been over that route one time before, I was looking forward to heading that way so late in the year.

Yosemite 2006

Our first "Bear Adventure"

Well, Summer 2006 we decided to go camping in Yosemite. We knew it would be crowded, but the chance to really stay in the valley was too good to miss. And, who knows, we might see some bears..... We arrived in Yosemite and set up camp in the Upper Pines campground.
